ArchAngel SA535 36 footer of 1979, Lavranos 1 Ton (design #97)
ArchAngel was built for and achieved 3rd place in the World One Ton Cup Championships of 1979. She was found in Gordon's Bay and purchased by local sailor Joe van der Westhuizen, who then donated her to the Royal Cape Yacht Club Sailing Academy in Cape Town.
Early in 2018 a group of local industry service providers came on board to sponsor and assist in her refurbishment and restoration.
We are proud to have been part of that endeavor. Now, during February and March 2019, the project has reached completion, with the academy sailors successfully competing in local sailing events.
