ArchAngel SA535 36 footer of 1979, Lavranos 1 Ton (design #97)
ArchAngel was built for and achieved 3rd place in the World One Ton Cup Championships of 1979. She was found in Gordon's Bay and purchased by local sailor Joe van der Westhuizen, who then donated her to the Royal Cape Yacht Club Sailing Academy in Cape Town.
A lovely picture of Lady Amber under sail, kindly supplied by Peter Flanagan. We recently assisted with a new furler, various rigging and other maintenance items while she was here in Cape Town.
We feel honoured to have been entrusted with the mast and spar refurbishment on Voortrekker II.
Well-known local Cape Town campaigner "Thunderchild", a Lavranos 52 design, required maintenance to her rod rigging.
This year we celebrate a decade-long partnership with the World ARC rally, having got involved back in 2005 when approached by Admiral Insurance to inspect and survey all their respective vessels in the fleet. As news spread amongst the boats we ended up inspecting and executing remedial repairs to many, if not all of them.
14th August 2014 found Warren travelling to Mahe in the Seychelles to undertake a mast, spars and rigging survey inspection and report for the Seychelles Charter Company. Their Eleuthera 60 (Fountaine Pajot catamaran) “NKALINDAU” was on the hard for scheduled maintenance.
